Injections

Open MRI injections are the most accurate and safe means of delivering medicines to targeted areas of the body. Deep tissue injections near the spine and nerves play a critical role in modern diagnosis and treatment. They provide an irreplaceable means for the doctor to reach inside the body without surgery.

The power of MRI allows surgeon to navigate among the soft tissues and nerves instead of only relying on the closest boney structures as required when traditional X-ray fluoroscopic guidance is used.

For most physicians, the use of traditional X-ray fluoroscopy for deep injections remains the imaging solution of choice. However, with the 2-dimensional images from X-ray guidance, the patient can experience great pain when the physician is forced to use the needle to "explore" along bone surfaces to find a target. In addition, the harmful X-ray radiation dose mounts rapidly, second by second. In some X-ray fluoroscopic procedures, the patient recieves a dose of X-rays as high as 500 times the amount in a chest X-ray and a thousand times the amount in a dental X-ray.

Dr. Aaron Filler pioneered the use of Open MRI Guidance to help reduce the pain and radiation exposure eliminate harmful X-ray radiation in these procedures. This means more accuracy, less discomfort, no cancer-causing radiation, and faster recovery for most patients.
